Tonight I made the “last step” in my new business venture. I signed up with a program to actually teach me to be successful in my new venture. I am scared to death about it, but I know it’s the right thing to do. I have already gone through some training, but this will [...] I must be insane. As I alluded to in my last post, I am setting up my own business to sell things on the internet. I have 6 websites that I have purchased to build the business. I’m now going through the process of incorporating so that I can start doing business legally. I [...] Well, as of today, I still don’t know when I’ll be going back to Cincinnati to teach. Fortunately, my boss says he has a couple of projects that I can work on in the office, so starting Monday I’ll be going to Detroit daily for work. I’ve had some unplanned expenses, so I desperately [...] I had consented last July to “host” the Stiles Family Association’s annual reunion in 2008. I thought it would be fairly easy to find a hotel near my hometown that would be suitable. So far, I’ve received 2 quotes from hotels that actually have enough room for 40 people to meet and stay. Sadly, the price [...] It has been suggested to me in the past by my students that I should put out a DVD so they could listen to my directions outside of class. Well, I have been putting some serious thought to this. I think it’s something that I could easily do. I’ve obtained a video camera. [...] Well, I decided to accept the position of clan historian for the Munson family. I’m a member of three genealogical family organizations, and now I’m active with 2 of those groups. It’s fun though because I get a chance to meet others who share an interest that I have. It also means that July will be a [...] I have never been allergic to anything in my life. However, I suddenly am finding that I am reacting to medications and it stinks. Back in September/October I had used Proactive solution 2 times and had a rather nasty reaction to it (face swollen very badly and lobsterfied). I immediately stopped using it [...] I was watching today’s episode of Millionaire when one of the contestants reached the $250,000 question. The question was about the Harry Potter books – specifically Dumbledore is an old word meaning what? The contestant did not know and decided to leave with $100,000 – not too shabby. However, I KNEW the answer and was [...] I have started working on my next class – it’s basically a class about critical thinking. There are a series of 9 “tasks” that I have to complete and then this class will be done. The first task was to write a 2-3 page essay on our chosen topic. My topic happens to [...] I just found out that I passed the exam that I took last Friday on Leadership and Professionalism. I wasn’t sure after taking it if I passed or not, but I received confirmation today that I did. I’m so happy because that was a tough course. Now onto my thinking critically writing course. [...] |
