Former President, Gerald Ford passed away earlier this week. Today is a private funeral for the family, then there will be “public” funerals later on. What I find incredible is that at 3:30 eastern today, news stations interrupted regular programming to show the “private” funeral – at least the arrival of the family, etc. Why can’t the [...] When I was growing up, I used to watch the cartoon “Dungeons Dragons”. I had never heard of the game, but I remember really liking the cartoon. After it went off the air in 1985, I actually forgot about that cartoon. In the 1990′s I was introduced to the game by some friends. [...] Why is it that everytime I make plans to meet up with my old friends, something comes up? Tomorrow night, some friends of mine are having a holiday party to which I was invited. I had replied that I would go – I figured it would be a good study break. That was last week. Yesterday, [...] Well, so much for having a white Christmas this year. Although, there was a bit of frost this morning, there’s no snow – not yet anyway. It never feels like Christmas to me without snow. The weather forecasters are saying that we are supposed to get some snow tonight/tomorrow morning. Still, it [...] I’m a traditionalist when it comes to the holidays – I want snow for this holiday season! It’s just not the same without the snow. It has been so warm (40-50′s) and rainy – that I have found it hard to be in the mood for the holidays. No, I don’t want as much snow [...] For years the billboards alongside the roads were ordinary signs advertising just about anything. Then came the “flip” billboard – the ones that could support 3 different signs and would just rotate panels on the billboard to change them from one sign to the next. Now they have completely electronic billboards. I saw [...] Well, I did it – I finally got high-speed internet at home. I had been using dial-up since I’m not home that often. However, there are more and more things that I want to do on the internet that are rather annoying at the slow speeds of dial-up. It finally got to the [...] Today was the last day of the new laptop class that I have been teaching. The next class will start in January sometime. Boy am I glad about this break! I am so looking forward to having a little bit of time off from work. I’ll be busy studying for school, but [...] With my job I travel a lot, so I normally stay in a hotel in the city that I need to travel to. For most of 2006 I have been in Cincinnati Ohio and have stayed at the Homestead Studio Suites hotel in Blue Ash. This is a hotel that I will NEVER stay [...] When your sitting in traffic with your turn signal on, and the vehicles in front and behind you also have their turn signals on that none of the 3 will blink at the same rate as one of the others? They all blink at different rates. I have no idea why that dawned on me today [...] |
