My class officially starts on Friday – which technically is 2 days from today, but I’m really geeked about this. Today, I got an e-mail invitation to an orientation conference call for the BS-IT program which will be tomorrow night at 8pm. I replied that I will participate of course. So I guess that [...] Today marks the one year anniversary of hurricane Katrina making landfall along the gulf coast of the USA. True, it was a devastating event and the region has not recovered from the terrible storm. My heart goes out to all of those who have been affected by the storm and the bumbled aftermath that [...] Last night I dropped in on the Stormvale meeting since I had a bit of time. It was wonderful seeing some of my friends again and meeting new ones. I hope to make it back to a meeting again soon. It’s not too often that I have some extra time, but I hope [...] Yesterday there was an announcement that Pluto was no longer a planet, but now would be considered a “dwarf planet”. So, now there are only 8 planets in our solar system instead of 9, but there are 3 dwarf planets that are being formally recognized. This is actually exciting news to me. Why? [...] Just one short week until my first college class starts! I am so excited! I have received the instructions via snail-mail on how to log in for the EWB class, so the first thing next Friday, that is exactly what I am going to do. Woo hoo!!! September 1 can’t get here [...] There’s only 2 things certain in life – death and taxes. I don’t know who first said it, but boy is it true! As a homeowner, I pay property taxes – the summer taxes are due on Sept 15 – so I just had to scrape together the money to pay those. Then [...] In just 13 SHORT days, I start my first college class again! I suppose it’s evident now that I’m really excited about this. I just can’t wait! I bought a study guide book for the IC3 exams – it’s one of the sets of examinations that I’ll probably need to take. I [...] I just received an e-mail from WGU telling me that they will be sending me information on my first class through the regular mail on Friday, so next week about this time, I should be receiving it. I’m so excited! It’s really getting close now – just 16 more days until my first class [...] Quite often I have been told that I am a very patient person by my students who are trying to learn computers. Actually, they couldn’t be more wrong about me – I am not a very patient person in my mind. When I am wanting something to happen, I want it to happen NOW. [...] I did receive the call from my enrollment advisor on Friday and it turns out that I was right – 9 classes have been waived of the 29 that I need to take to complete the BS in Information Technology. So, come September 1, I will start with the Education Without Boundries class – and about 2 [...] |
