I’m a college student again! I just had my phone interview with the enrollment counselor at WGU and was told that I was accepted as a student. I’ll be starting my on-line classes September 1. I never have been so excited to be starting school…. Of course, I never thought I’d be [...] Tonight I took the Readiness Test for WGU – kinda like an admissions test. Basically I just had to answer 50 or so English and Math questions. It wasn’t too bad. I started to panic a little when the fractions wouldn’t display correctly on the screen – but I called about it and [...] I’ve decided to take the plunge and return to college again. I’ve applied to Western Governors University and will be speaking with the enrollment counselor tonight. One reason I chose WGU was because they are a distance learning university – which is exactly what I need. Another reason is their degree program. [...] One thing that I do as I’m driving along in my travels is look at the license plates of my fellow travelers on the roads. It’s something that I picked up when I was a little kid going on vacations with my family – we made a game out of it by making up words [...] Today, for the first time in a really long time, I enjoyed myself. I did some errands – re-filled some prescriptions and did grocery shopping, but I also got my hair done, stopped to Best Buy and bought a couple of DVD’s that I had been wanting, then I stopped at K-mart and bought me [...] If you’ve read Harry Potter, you may be familiar with one of the passwords used by Sir Cadogan – oddsbodkins. At the time of reading Harry Potter, I thought that it was a strange word, and having never encountered the word before, thought JK Rowling probably made it up. I thought no more about [...] Last weekend I traveled to Massachusetts for the Stiles Family Association annual family reunion. I first attended their reunion last year in Indiana, where I was elected 2nd Vice-President of the Association, and asked to sit on the By-laws committee which is reviewing the By-laws of the association at the moment. This year, I [...] Today is the 230th birthday of the United States of America – the day we officially declared independence from Great Britian. For many people it’s a day off from work, a day of bbq’s with the family and fireworks. It should also be a day that we remember all those who have fought on behalf of [...] Before I throw away anything that has personal info on it, I shred it. Unfortunately, a couple of months ago, my shredder suddenly stopped working. The motor would run, but the blades would not turn. I checked and didn’t see any paper stuck in it at the time, but didn’t really have time [...] I’ve been watching Adventures of Superman on DVD this weekend, specifically seasons 3 4. These were the episodes that starred George Reeves as Clark Kent/Superman, Noel Neill as Lois Lane, Jack Larson as Jimmy Olsen, John Hamilton as Perry White and Robert Shayne as Inspector Bill Henderson.
