Hi John! All of the surnames mentioned on my blog are from the United States - unless I specifically state another country. Munson is on my father's side and traces back to Thomas Munson who immigrated to the colonies sometime between 1625 and 1635 from England. As for the surnames Lee and Quinn - there have been a few of those who have married into the family as cousins and such. One of my mother's cousins, Genevieve Jones married a William Quinn probably around 1940 or so. I only directly descend from Mary Lee who married Lancelot Newton in 1610 in England.

I found your blog while doing researchon what the Family Finder DNA test is supposed to do (I havealready done the Y DNA test to 67 markers). In looking at your surname list I saw three names that are pat of my family history. Quinn is my paternal line. Lee and Munson are part of my mother's family. He father was a Lee fro Norway and his first cousin was a Munson, also from Norway. I just wondered what the chances of connecting on three such relatively unusual surnames is.

This has been a family search year for me. I spent ten days in Ireland looking for Quinn ancestors and another several days in Norway where I was met my third cousins on my mother's side of the family and visited the family farm that had been in the family for 17 generations.

Hi Nancy--thanks so much for your post on the Michigan eLibrary! Very glad to know that you've discovered MeL.org, which is truely, in my opinion, one of Michigan's greatest information resources! You mentioned that you're a teacher. You will definitely want to check out MeL's newest component--the Michigan Online Resources for Teachers (MORE) which has thousands of online curriculum based resources which are aligned to the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs)! BR/BR/Thank you again for promoting MeL.org on your blog!BR/BR/Warm regards,BR/Deb Biggs ThomasBR/Library of MichiganBR/Michigan eLibrary Coordinator

Thank you for noticing this. I#39;ve been a small art gallery owner for the past 3 years and have been seriously annoyed at the fact that people think the Banks amp; Credit Card companies are doing a good thing by issuing rewards cards when its actually us, the merchants, who are paying for it. I#39;ve been strongly considering not taking rewards cards anymore, but I know what will happen ... the customer will chose not make the purchase. If I raise prices to cover these costs, then the consumer is actually paying for their own quot;rewardquot; anyways. It#39;s a scam. Please spread the word, consumers need to know this.
