Comcast just isn’t working out for me. I’m starting the job hunting process again. [...] Yesterday I attended the GMA job fair in Detroit. My local ABC station, ABC12, was there and did a broadcast. They also put a link to their story on their Facebook page. I posted a comment about the story giving a brief account of my experience at the job fair. I didn’t really think much about [...] This morning, Good Morning America hosted a job fair at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Since I’m now unemployed (have been for a week now), I thought that I would attend in hopes of getting a job lead. My local ABC affiliate, Channel 12 was broadcasting from there, as well as GMA and a couple of other [...] Well, tonight (ok, technically last night), I drove back home from Cincinnati. But this time was a milestone of sorts. My 2005 Pontiac Vibe rolled 110,000 miles. I originally purchased the Vibe on Feb. 19, 2005. That averages out to be roughly 2,600 miles per month. Geesh… no wonder it can find it’s way home all [...] Yesterday marked the end of another set of classes that I taught in Cincinnati. Today I find out that one of my students who just finished class yesterday died last night of a heart attack. To say that I am in shock is an understatement. After class yesterday afternoon, this gentleman and I talked for a little [...] For work, I mentioned that I had a couple of projects in the works – a website and a database. After submitting some information on what would be needed for the database, the higher-ups decided to use an in-house product and adapting it instead of having me create the whole thing. That’s fine – I didn’t [...] I have the next week off from teaching classes. I plan to spend it studying and working on a couple of projects for work. Before I came home last night from Cincinnati, one of my friends there asked what my plans were for my “time off”. When I replied study and work, she was suprised. Today, [...] Well, yesterday and today saw the end of the 3 week computer classes that I was teaching in Cincinnati. I now have a week off from teaching, although I’ll be busy getting other things done for Gradepoint. I actually remembered to pass out the course evaluations this time. It was the first time in about a [...] The computer classes that I teach started again this last week. The first week of class is always hectic, and this time was no exception. I’ve also been working hard on my college classes to get those done. Currently, for one class I have 7 of 9 tasks complete and passed. The 9th task is complete [...] Why oh why did I do this to myself? I knew this would happen – so why didn’t I do something about it before now? Egads – I’ve got to get better about these things. Next week I start teaching a 3 week class in Cincinnati. It finishes on August 30. I have a huge database project for [...] |
